Sitting In Your Brilliance
Over the past four weeks, I’ve been running a daily program of 15-30 minute sessions of meditation or yoga online with my friend and fellow counsellor, Sylvia. I wanted to explore creating something to support a regular practice of balancing the nervous system and tuning into the body with a somatic lens of body awareness.
In each session we guide people through a gentle exploration of Self through mindful meditations, yin yoga, or chair yoga, tuning into sensations in the body and practicing noticing the nervous system as we slow down together, which isn’t always easy when you’re coming in from a busy day, a stressful event, or weathering general stressors of life.
However, by cultivating a regular/daily practice of slowing down - or ‘Sitting In Your Brilliance’ as I like to call it - we can sit in our Being, without doing, and get to know what it feels like to be in your body. This creates space for noticing stress in the body, how it comes out in behaviours, and the mental or emotional load it places on us so we can better manage stress.
With guided daily sessions, we’ve been able to help people establish, cultivate, or support a regular well-Being practice for managing stress, regulating the nervous system, fostering creativity, and nurturing self-compassion, self-care, self-love, and self-worth.
This program runs until 13 April 2025. Find out more and join us here.
I’ll be running another daily program of similar practices later this year so watch this space, or get in touch if you’d like to join this or the next one.
